Celebrating the Good Food Movement in Lincolnshire: Nourishing Our Communities

The Good Food Movement in Lincolnshire has become a beacon of community engagement and sustainable change. At the forefront of this movement is Slow Circular Earth, a community-driven initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable living and fostering a deeper connection with our food sources.

One of the highlights of our journey has been the World Food Supper Clubs hosted at Mint Lane Cafe in Lincoln as part of the Good Food Movement with Greater Lincolnshire Food Partnership. These culinary adventures have showcased a rich tapestry of global cuisines, featuring delights from Ghanaian chefs Tanya and Vivienne Akrofi to the Caribbean creations of Angeletia. Each event is more than a meal; it’s a celebration of culture, community, and good food.

Exploring Edible Community Gardens

Our Edible Garden Tours have allowed us to connect with the roots of our food. These tours provide a unique opportunity to witness the beauty and abundance of local gardens, learn about sustainable gardening practices, and discover how to grow our own food. Whether it’s the fresh herbs on your windowsill or a flourishing backyard garden, every effort counts toward a more sustainable future.

Promoting Change Through Engagement

The Good Food Movement has always had a mission at its heart. Slow Circular Earth aims to diversify community leadership, foster food citizenship, and expand the movement to reach new audiences. We’re committed to creating a more inclusive and dynamic platform for all members of our community.

Building an Online Food Hub

Recognising the need for a broader reach, we’re not just about local gatherings. Slow Circular Earth is taking the Good Food Movement online, exploring the concept of a sustainable local food hub. This digital space will serve as an online shopping community with a digital presence, making it easier for everyone to access fresh, local produce and connect with like-minded individuals and food partners.

Our journey has been driven by engaging with the community and building valuable resources. From toolkits like REDI for Change to collaborating with food bank volunteers and beneficiaries, Slow Circular Earth is bringing everyone to the table to make a difference.

The Future of the Good Food Movement

Looking ahead, we see a future filled with possibilities. Slow Circular Earth plans to continue and grow the World Food Supper Club across Greater Lincolnshire. We are committed to sustaining good food practices for the long term and creating lasting relationships within our community.

The Good Food Movement in Lincolnshire has come a long way, but our journey is far from over. We invite you to join us in celebrating good food, diverse cultures, and sustainable practices. Let’s continue to grow, engage, and make a positive impact on our local food system. Together, we can create a future where everyone has access to delicious, nutritious, and sustainable food.

Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events, workshops, and exciting developments in the Good Food Movement. Together, with Slow Circular Earth, let’s keep nourishing our communities and our planet.
