Coming to Barton-upon-Humber 10th to 18th June 2023

Barton Great Big Green Week is a community festival hosted by Slow Circular Earth UK. Raising awareness for climate change in Barton-Upon-Humber and surrounding villages.

The Barton Great Big Green Week, organised by members of our community, will be running from the 10th to 18th June 2023. The Green Week will be a celebration of everything people in Barton are doing to improve our local environment and tackle climate change, as well as a call for our government to do more.

The first Great Big Green Week took place between 18 – 26 September 2021, and was the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. Over 5000 events celebrated how communities have been taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces, and encouraged others to get involved too.

Join us for an out-of-this-world movie experience at Barton Great Big Green Week 2023!

We’re thrilled to present the Children’s Great Big Green Week Film Screening of Wall-E

at Ropery Hall, The Ropewalk, Barton-Upon-Humber on Saturday, 10th June.

Doors open at 1:30pm, and the film starts at 2pm sharp!

Bring your family, friends, and enthusiasm for saving the planet as we embark on this eco-friendly adventure.

Best of all, admission is FREE!

Zero Waste Cafe @ Barton Carnival, Baysgarth Park

Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th June

For our Great Big Green Week finale we join Barton Carnival to celebrate everything sustainable as the organisation follows the Green theme to become more environmentally friendly. We are so proud to partner with the carnival team.

This event will also be our 2nd official outing for our newly converted horse trailer the Zero Waste Cafe – and it hopes to deliver what it set out to achieve. We will be hosting ‘Letters To Tomorrow‘ workshops and more eco-friendly activities throughout the weekend and we would love you to join us. Whilst of course sharing our favourite rescued surplus coffee beans!

We will have conversations, hopeful connections and discussions about what environmental activities and projects you would like to see happen in our community.
